Abby joined the team in August 2021 as the Volunteer Program Coordinator. She earned a Master Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from University of Oslo. Abby has a passion for working in the nonprofit sector. After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, Abby’s passion to help people and work with volunteer groups grew. She worked for a past organization that increased her interest in working in the nonprofit management field. Because of the disaster relief aid , she was able to explore parts of the world, she would have otherwise never been. She’s been to Haiti, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and many others to help after a disaster struck. Now Abby’s devotion to helping people has widened from disaster relief and shifted to supporting survivors of domestic violence. She brings all of her skills to Summit Advocates and cannot be more excited to work with the volunteers and survivors in Summit County, Colorado.
